For Bridge Designs that are mostly straight, or slightly curved with a large radius of curvature, it is appropriate to consider a plane frame (2D) model for time dependent analysis. For this type of structure and analysis, IDS provides Bridge Designer II.
Our new Bridge Designer II version 4 was conceived specifically to provide a time simulation of construction stages for concrete pre/post-tensioned structures. The analysis provided by Bridge Designer II is adequate for concrete segmental bridges built in cantilever or span-by-span (or any other construction method), concrete cable-stayed bridges as well as composite structures.

Cable-Stay Bridge Non-Linear Analysis
Tackle complex cable-stay bridge construction sequence – stressing, de-stressing or re-stressing stays by force or elongation. BD2 handles the variations of cable stiffness due to sags automatically, as well as the effect of girder and pylon deformation on stay forces.
3D Modeling Environment for Curved Structures
For curved structures with a smaller radius of curvature, it is appropriate to consider a 3D model for time dependent analysis as well as other transverse and torsion behavior. For this type of structure and analysis, IDS offers BD3.
BD3 is essentially a 3D version of Bridge Designer. In BD3 the members are 6 degree of freedom beams and the displacement field is 3-dimensional (3 translations and 3 rotations).
Bridge Building Software Program
The MC3D geometry control program Is used to monitor the casting operations and establish “as-cast” curves step-by-step to verify that the actual superstructure geometry is in close agreement with the geometry described in the design documents.
MC3D Geometry Control Program allows the following:
• Input of a “casting-set” (a cantilever or a span), including number of segments, segment definition, joint definition and camber (final deflections at the end of construction with time effects).
• Match-Cast setup based on already cast geometry (As-Cast)
• Survey of match-cast and wet-cast markers, in order to compute as-cast coordinates Print-out of As-Cast coordinates –with MS-Excel Exports
